In Spring 2021, I met with my collaborator and friend Christian de Rezendes, an award-winning film maker from Slatersville, Rhode Island to discuss a project: creating something memorable for Susan and my 50th wedding anniversary. He asked me if I was attempting create a wedding picture montage or a family history documentary.
My immediate response was no on both counts. I stated that instead, I was interested in telling the family story—a compact historical over-view of over 1,175 years of family history. I have made an attempt to extract from our ”Family Archives”, the relevant information that would form the basis of the family’s “Journey”, and its “moments of eternity”.
”The Journey” is a 70+ -minute video that broadly surveys the respective families’ histories and, like a ”family funnel”, gradually narrows its gauge to focus more precisely on Susan’s and my personal journey over the last 50 years.
