The Morrison Family
The Morrison Family originates from Scotland. According to historical records the family can find its roots in Perth, the Isle of Lewis, and the Isle of Harris.

Viking Origins
The Morrison family’s origins begin in ancient Scotland with the Viking settlers. It is believed that the family are descended from the son of a King of Norway who was shipwrecked off the shores of Lewis and later married the heiress of Pabbay castle off Harris. This union produced what we now know as the Morrison clan.
Morrison: Scottish or Irish?
For centuries, the quickest route between Scotland and Ireland was by sea which allowed quite a bit of interaction between the two peoples. This explains why the same Gaelic language can be found in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man. It is thought that the Irish Morrisons gained their surname from Scottish visitors who chose to remain across the Irish Sea.
It should be noted that famed knight and Scottish leader, William Wallace, has familial ties to the Morrison family.
